Passage1 话题 动物群居的利和弊
内容 文章属于动物类话题,第一段引出主题,说群居会给动物带来好处,但是同时也会有一些代价。
一方面,从群居之后的后代的数量角度出发,与群居相比,反而是独居动物的后代数量比较多。另一方面,群居之后,动物更加容易集体感染病。
群居动物更容易觅食产卵,但是配偶也会因为竞争压力大而易于互相感染各种疾病。这里文章用了蜜蜂和燕子的例子。工蜂会用某些方式来清理蜂巢里的真菌来防止疾病的传染。
群居动物也可以共同抵抗捕猎者。这里举了鱼的例子,有些与选择群居联合起来一起抵御catfish的进攻。但是与此同时,有些独居的鱼也可以独自应对捕食者,所以在漫长的进化过程中,他们就演化出一些可以自我防卫的特征。

Passage2 话题 彗星
内容 第一段讲彗星的一些基本特征,是由一些冰,气体,metallic stone组成的,彗星有很长的轨道,有些轨道都在海王星之外了,这篇文章还配了彗星图片帮助考试生理解。
文章描述彗星经过地球的时候还不是太显眼,但是当它经过太阳的时候,彗星的表面物质就会蒸发形成tail。一部分是蒸发气体,而另外一部分是金属分子。当 远离太阳之后,气体就会condense,尾巴就会消失。所以彗星每次靠近太阳的时候都会有损失,但是彗星不会消失,因为当损失到只剩下core的时候, 彗星也就不会再继续蒸发了。
文章还对长周期彗星和短周期彗星进行了比较。讲长周期彗星很久都不会靠近太阳一次,但是他们却可以被其他经过的天体的重力影响,从而运行轨道发生改变,因此就有可能变成短周期的彗星。
最后一段讲哈雷彗星,从240BEC开始被天文学家记录下三十多次了,后来才知道是同一颗星球。

Passage3 话题 Agriculture in British America
内容 全文讲了新英格兰地区的农业变化情况。
第一段:新英格兰的英国殖民者们,农业对他们很重要,他们砍伐森林,捕鱼,耕地。
文章讲到中部的土壤更肥沃,粮食丰富,可以出口。但是土壤一般在使用几年后就会休耕7年。但是后来人口增多,土地不够用,人们就改为种2休2的模式,因此对土壤造成了破坏,所以人们只得转行或者离开。
最后一段对比南部和北部,说北部的成熟周期长,一年一熟,而南方一年多熟,所以就可以为从事农业的人提供更多的岗位。

解析 看到这种题,学生的第一感觉应该是很开心。在平时的练习中这种类型,练过很多次。这种题目属于最简单的一类。类似的题目有 Describe a person who had a positive impact on you./Describe a person whom you would like to spend time with.在回答这道题的时候,我们在brainstorm的时候可以从以下几方面构思:第一时间确定这个人是谁?为什么TA很特别?有哪些特点让你觉得 TA很特别。.有些学生也可能想把自己所想到的知识点都说完,其实在短暂的45秒内是不可能说完每个细节点的。抓住其中的一两个点细说,这样会更好。对于 那些基础不是很好的学生来说,最好不要说得很快,注意句子与句子之间的连接词,这一点是很重要的。在托福口语中说得清楚比说得快更重要。对于基础好的学生 可以列举出两个例子来支持自己的观点。基础再好点的学生也可以说一个例子。这一个例子只要说得够细致,最后避免说:thank you 和That’s the end of my speech 等。
Sample Answer    When it comes to a special friend to me ,I would like to mention my friend James who is a knowledagable and approachable student . To begin with he was a munitor in my university years .He often dresses casually in school .Aa I mentioned before ,knowledagable as he was and he has read tons of books ranging from Maths to literature computer science .whatever problems I was confronted with ,I would come to him for resolving ,as well as some of my computer teaching teachers and he could deal with the problems effortlessly . What’s more ,we had the same interests when it come to readinging English novels .We both like W.WilliamShakespeare’s masterpiece. "Romeo and Juliet"It is a comedy factors with the tragedy, It’s full of humanism of the Renaissance romance.We both found it marvelous and attractive .Yet,James was a big fan of basketball .and basketball was his biggest passion in his life ,I could learn to play basketball from his .So why I think he’s special to me .

解析 总体来说这道题还是属于不是很难的一题。我们知道在TPO22 Q1就是与此题相类似,不过那是第一题这边的是第二题。在这一题大部分同学很喜欢的一道题。因为可以选择。支持或反对,喜欢或者是不喜欢。平时在练习的时候,一些学生在某一观点上感觉没有话说,却在另一方面找到了自己的话匣子。
Sample Answer   I disagree with the statement thatt people's personality never changes .As far as I’m concerned that my personality do have chnaged since I have  grown up.
   When I was young and studied in Gaoyao Primary school
I tended to be fearful and timid whenever my teacher asked me questions to answer ,and I kept others at a distance as my father told me that “Be careful with strangers around you ” as we get older we learn from our experiences life makes us stronger, wiser.Also,If you get into a loud classroom with numerous people ,you are able to chang your personality ,to be a quiet person .Lastly , our personality is affected by our education . When I stayed in university ,I used to be a introverted ,whan I began working ,I became extroverted .
  That’s why I thinks one’s personality will chang .

听力 The woman disagrees:
1.It's quite easy to clean up the garbage and the garbage is not a big deal
2.hot dogs and juice offered by the food cart is what keeps her concentrated on the classes,she doesn't have to starve in class
解析(Sample Note     The students proposed the university should cancle ancel the food cart service.The woman in the conversation thinks the change is unacceptable . First of all, she thinks that it’s pretty easy to clean up the garbage and the garbage is not a big deal.she thinks that ask someone to clean it up isn’t a big matter .Secondly, she thinks the hot dogs and juice offered by the food cart is what keeps her concentrated on the classes,she doesn't have to starve in class.and if you’re hungry ,how could you possibly concertrate yourself on your study .
 
分析: 这一题对于学生来说还是很简单的,为什么这样说呢。我们知道TPO3,Q3就与此题相类似,只要练习过TPO的学生,这一题做起来还是很容易的。
Task5 听力  
The man has to finish his poetry assignment and he wants to copy a poem from a book in the library,but the library is closed on sundays.
 
解析(Sample Note 解析(Sample Note)男生需要写一个关于美国文学史的Paper,但是学校在周天的时时候图书馆要关门。
 
 
Sample Answer 现在有两种方案:
1.现在换成 another poem 然后去图书馆 copy,但是由于时间很紧,恐怖在短时间内很难站到特别好的poem
2.把Poem打印的时间等到周一的早晨才去打印,但是那时候打印完毕了再上交Poem 在时间上已经比较晚了。
答案解说 第五题和第三题不太一样,第五题出现的多数是学生在学校中遇到的问题以及解决问题的两种方案。第五题有个最大的特点就是综合题中唯一一个可以加入自己观点 的题,学生们仍然可以选择自己喜欢的那个解决方案。至于一些学生的困扰就是:对于这一题到底自己的观点说多少时间呢?是10秒还是20 甚至是30秒呢?在我课堂中的学生应该知道,在这里不做分析。
Task6 听力 每个教师在教授课程的时候都会有自己的Rules 来对付哪些顽皮甚至是不认真听课的学生。教授讲到了两种在他课堂上的方法。
1.Explaining purpose。
举例:when the professor taught elementary school students,he used to ask students not to eat in class and he explained the consequences of eating in classes
2.Ask the students to make a commitment when they are entering the classroom
举例:the professor would ask students to sign their names on a poster to promise that they wouldn't eat in class.

Sample Answer  The professor talks about two types of strategies of making classroom rules when students wtusying in class .The first one is plaining purpose,for example,when the professor was teaching elementary school students,he used to ask students not to eat in class and he also pointed that the the consequences of eating in classes for the others students .If one of the students eating in class when the teacher was teaching ,others would be distracted by it’s smell and something like that .The second way is asking the students to make a commitment.For example,the professor would ask students to sign their names on a poster to promise that they wouldn't eat in class.Whenever the students enter the classsroom ,they have to saain their names on the poster ,if they break their own promises ,they would be punished by the professor .
答案解说 在这一题中,一些学生通常对于听力中出现的一些专业术语的发音感到不知所措,甚至是不会说,其实很简单只要相对应的说大些即可。例如:听力中出现了自己没 有听懂的一些专有名词,也可以用a kind of +植物/动物 或者是a ...person . 代替即可,这样做并不会扣分
Task4 阅读 Animals move around with the help of other forces。
听力 Spiders are born in a group,but later they have to move around for food due to competition,but since walking and jumping consume a lot of their energy,and they can't go far,they usually move around with the help of wind
解析(Sample Note   The professor uses a spider to illustrate this phenomenon .As we all know that spiders are born in a group and they never work alone they are the most numerous group of arachnids They cannot eat solid food instead they inject, or cover their prey with digestive enzymes, and wait for it to turn into a nutrient broth and then suck it up using their pharynx and the majority of spiders produce neurotoxic venom with which they paralyse their prey .And spiders can’t go any furthersince since walking and jumping consume a lot of their energy, in order to save it’s energy ,lots of time they rely on wind to help them to go further and catch its food .
